Description
TV 130 tape is a single sided non-stick tape with backing material in PTFE (Polytetrafluorethylene) coated glass cloth.
This tape is slightly thinner than the 3M 5451 Teflon glass cloth tape and it has a liner that makes it easier to use for some applications.
Its glass cloth backing material gives it high mechanical resistance as well as good dimensional stability while providing good conformability.
It is resistant to high temperatures (up to 205°C continuously) and can even withstand higher temperatures in the case of intermittent exposure.
It is indifferent to UV rays, infrared and microwaves and also offers protection against humidity. In addition, it is non toxic and therefore can be used in the food industry.
Its non-stick characteristics, thanks to PTFE, promote slippage in all types of processes where the temperature is high.
The most common applications of TV 130 Teflon glass cloth tape are the following :
- protection of heat sealing plates or heat sealing bars of plastic film for packaging.
- covering moulds for the manufacturing of composites in the aeronautical industry
- covering PVC profile heat mirrors for the building industry (for example for the manufacturing of PVC windows).
- non-stick inserts on presses for the manufacturing of abrasive grinding wheels, chipboard…
- covering cylinders in the textile or paper industries.
