Sealants

ADEZIF offers a comprehensive range of sealants that both seal and bond materials flexibly and elastically:

Silicone Sealants

Silicone sealants are used to waterproof assemblies or seal gaps and cracks. One limitation is that they can't be painted. They offer good resistance to temperature, aging (without elasticity loss), UV rays, and have excellent resistance to chemicals.

  • Features:
    • Temperature-resistant (up to 300°C)
    • Specific formulations that don't corrode metals, perfect for electronic devices
    • Retains its properties even in harsh conditions
    • Available in two-component versions for added strength or faster drying time
    • Outstanding UV (ultraviolet) resistance

  • Common Uses:
    • Glass and mirror bonding
    • Electronic component protection (potting)
    • Electrical insulation
    • Iron sealing
    • Aquarium building and repair
    • Lighting fixtures

Polyurethane Sealants

Polyurethane sealants are used for sealing and also for bonding medium to large surfaces, offering a greater filling capacity than other sealants. The resulting joint remains flexible, accommodating differential expansions and distortions.

  • Features:

    • Excellent mechanical resistance (up to 10 Mpa)
    • Broad range of formulations (mechanical strength, viscosities, colors, fire rating, handling time...)
    • Can be painted, unlike silicone sealants
    • R40 risk-free option
  • Common Uses:

    • Windshield and auto body assembly
    • Industrial vehicle sealing
    • PVC window installation
    • Waterproofing products

Hybrid Sealants

Hybrid sealants represent an advancement over polyurethane sealants. They show better UV resistance and are formulated without isocyanates. Surface preparation is also simpler.

  • Features:

    • Retains polyurethane benefits and offers:
      • Superior UV protection
      • Suitable for food contact
      • Immediate paintability after application
      • Excellent adhesion to plastics
      • Advanced formulations without the need for a priming adhesive
  • Common Uses:

    • Same as polyurethane sealants
    • Stiffener assembly on traffic signs
    • Roller shutter sealing
    • Partition bonding
    • Certified products for marine and construction industries

Preformed Butyl Sealants

Preformed butyl sealants come as rolls of pre-shaped sealant cords. They require no specific tools for application, resulting in less waste. They're easily applied to bond and seal all types of materials, especially recommended for porous materials.

  • Features:

    • Perfect for sealing without bonding
    • Remains malleable, facilitating repositioning or removal
  • Common Uses:

    • Caravan component sealing
    • Double-glazed window sealing
