What are the characteristics of 3M 9627 ?

3M 9627 tape is a double-sided transfer tape for the scotch tape range from the manufacturer 3M, created especially for low surface energy plastics such as high and low density Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP) and Polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE).

Its added value is that it bonds to a large number of surfaces but particularly difficult-to-stick plastics as well as powder coating.

Its 360 acrylic adhesive offers better adhesion than classical transfer tapes with a thinner tape. The 127 µm of adhesive offers better conformability on textured materials and on rough surfaces.

Other strengths include :

• its good temperature resistance (resistant up to 177 °C in the short term)
• its resistance to solvents and difficult environments
• the fact that it can be torn by hand
• its adhesive with minimal smell

This tape also meets the high requirements of several applications in terms of aesthetics, precision and thinness and is used, for example, in automotive and electronic design.
