What are the characteristics of 3M 8403 ?

3M 8403 tape is a green, single sided polyester tape from the Scotch tape range of the manufacturer 3M.

Its special feature is that it bonds very well to silicone-coated surfaces, which makes it a key product for the splicing of silicone coated papers in the printing industry or other silicone-coated surfaces.

Its silicone adhesive resists high temperatures and can be removed without leaving any residue on several surfaces, including after 3h in a sterilizer at 177°C.

Its green polyester backing material is easy to identify and its thinness, combined with its high tensile strength, does not bring about breakage of the tape or splicing problems.

It can also be used to protect :

• Surfaces against scratches during handling before assembly.
• Surfaces subjected to light or acid chemical baths.
