What are the characteristics of 3M 8953 ?

3M 8953 scotch tape, manufactured by 3M, is a bi-directional polypropylene adhesive reinforced with glass filaments in the longitudinal direction.

These glass filaments give it good tensile strength. The solvent-based adhesive is used for tape tabs, splicing or closing reels.

The company 3M has introduced a new breakthrough technology (Modified Synthetic Rubber), which is a modified synthetic rubber on new tape that offers better tensile strength and resistance to shearing. 

The synthetic rubber adhesive offers good immediate bonding and easy application on many surfaces. This filament tape has good resistance to cold. It unwinds silently.
